Zelazowa Wola, is a small village in a picturesque Masovian countryside, just an hour drive from Warsaw.
Here, you will find a charming manor house, where the most famous Polish pianist and composer, Fryderyk Chopin, was born in 1810. The manor house is a vision of the Polish manor house of the 19th century, filled with family portraits, copies of notes and documents, and of course a piano – one of the instruments that Chopin played.
Nowadays the manor house is surrounded by a large park where a few hundred of rare plant species grow. From May until September piano recitals of Chopin music are given in the museum. You can listen to it through the open Windows while walking in the park.
Afterwards you may wish to visit the parish church in Brochow, where Chopin was baptized.
